Group Policies¶

It is possible to control several PDFCreator settings using group policies. Therefore we provide the PDFCreator.admx file and several language files. You can find the files in the “Group Policies” folder of your installation of PDFCreator Professional or PDFCreator Terminal Server.

To use the PDFCreator Group Policies, copy the PDFCreator.admx file and the subfolder that matches your system language from %programfiles%\PDFCreator\Group Policies into %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions.

All settings are available as Machine and User Group Policies, of which the machine context is superior.

The available Group Policy settings are listed below¶

Enable to allows own user profiles next to the shared profiles

DisableAccountsTab

Activate to disable accounts tab. This disables the functionality to add, remove or change accounts.

DisableApplicationSettings

Bool

Activate to disable the access to the whole application settings.

DisableDebugTab

Bool

Activate to disable debug tab. This disables the functionality to run test jobs and change the debug level.

DisableHistory

Bool

Activate to disable the job history.

DisableLicenseExpirationReminder

Bool

Activate to never show a reminder of an upcoming license expiration.

DisablePrinterTab

Bool

Activate to disable printer tab. This disables the functionalities to add/delete/rename PDFCreator printers, change profile assignments and set the primary pdfcreator printer.

DisableProfileManagement

Activate to completely disable the editing of profiles.

DisableRssFeed

Bool

Activate to disable the rss news feed.

DisableTips

Bool

Disable tips on home screen.

DisableTitleTab

Bool

Activate to disable title tab. This disables the functionality to change title replacements.

DisableUsageStatistics

Activate to completely disable the anonymous usage statistics.

HideFeedbackForm

Activate to hide feedback form

HideLicenseTab

Bool

Activate to hide license tab.

HidePdfArchitectInfo

Bool

Activate to hide information about our customizable PDF Editor.

LoadSharedAppSettings

Bool

Activate to load application settings from ini file in ‘%ProgramData%pdfforgePDFCreator’. This is activated by default and must be explicitly disabled.

LoadSharedProfiles

Bool

Activate to load profiles from ini file in ‘%ProgramData%pdfforgePDFCreator’. This is activated by default and must be explicitly disabled.

SharedSettingsFilename

String

Set the filename of the shared settings file. The default is ‘settings.ini’.

ApplicationSettings

ApplicationSettings.Language

Set the display language of main program.

ApplicationSettings.UpdateInterval

String

Set the update interval. Set ‘Never’ to disable updates.

CreatorAppSettings

CreatorAppSettings.HotStandbyMinutes

Int

Set the number of minutes PDFCreator will remain in standby after running. Set to 0 to disable.
